Darwin

After the scenic cruising at the Kimberley Coast we enjoyed another day at sea then stopped in Darwin. We saw my cousin Alison and her husband Leslie at the terminal as they were running a stall there. In Darwin we visited the museum and wandered through the mall. We didn't have a lot of time there as the ship had to sail in the early afternoon due to the tides. We did get to see a family of dolphins as we left the port.

The Kimberley Coast

After visiting Broome we went for a scenic cruise along the Kimberley Coast. This was the day I spent in bed but I still managed to get a couple of pics.

Nearly home

The time seems to have flown by and we are enjoying our last night aboard the Dawn Princess. In the last post I shared some images of Lombok. Our next port of call was Broome. We didn't go on an organised tour but made our way around town using the local bus service. We visited Cable Beach, Will Creek Pearls showroom and a delightful museum. We were going to go back to Cable Beach to watch the sunset but I wasn't feeling well so we went back to the ship and watched it from there.

A Quick Update

Well a week has gone by already since my first post - time does fly when you're having fun. A lot has happened since that post. We spent another day at sea then had an adventurous day in Lombok visiting a temple, water palace and a couple of craft villages. At one of the villages we watched some of the local girls weaving - it was very interesting. I think the highlight of the day was the experience of riding in the taxi we hired as the driver took us down every back road imaginable dodging scooters, people, horses and pot holes. There were a couple of times we thought we wouldn't make it through without leaving the road or getting stuck. More has happened since then but I will finish this post with a few images from Lombok and I'll be back tomorrow with another update.

Cruising

I have finally found some time to put up my first post about our holiday. We left from Fremantle on Tuesday around 5pm. The first night we travelled up the coast arriving at Geraldton on Wednesday morning. We spent the day exploring Geraldton visiting the HMAS Sydney memorial, the cathedral and the museum. Today was spent on board playing bingo, eating, watching some shows and relaxing. Here are a few pictures I have taken of our adventure so far.

A New Coat for Buster

Today DH went to Bunbury with his mate and one of the items he bought was a coat for the Buster. This is his first coat and he was decidedly unimpressed by it but he did look cute.
